Pathetic Service

I am a Virgin Active member since 2007 and still am. I am currently on a month to month contract. I want to know if there is some sort over sight Department that over sees and regulates the operation of Virgin Active, such as a ombudsman for gyms. I have a problem with Virgin charging people money for freezing their contract. I travel abroad often due to work commitments, sometimes for a month at a time but Virgin Active expects a member to pay for the month regardless if they train or not and if you want to freeze your membership, you are still expected to pay. This was a free service but Virgin noticed they are losing money so they have decided to charge people for this service which I feel is a total *******. I am a member and feel Virgin should understand the needs of of its members. I need an investigation to be done in to the legality of this practice. How can a member be expected to pay for a service he never used, that is pathetic. I have not trained at Virgin for this entire month but am expected to pay for it in order to train when I return to South Africa next week. This is how Virgin keeps me moving by frustrating me.

Hello Adrianstevens,

Thank you so much for taking my call today.

Our freezing option is a value added service offered to our members at a reduced monthly fee.

As explained, we review each case individually and we will always do our best to provide the best options to our members.

Kindest regards
Robyn
