Opened an account on minor name without us knowing

Good Morning

My husband had a account at virgin active my daughter was 12 / 13 at that time what makes her a minor the account was paid up and they all happy my daughter is now 17 and joined again me as guardian of cause yesterday she went to the gym note its her 1st month after the 1 month joining as we paid the joining fee they told her there is a problem on the account they will contact me so i waited and no call i sent a message this morning asking why the debit order did not go off is there a problem with the account number or something so one of the sales gents phoned me back saying my daughters account is in arrears with 997.00 or something like that i asked how so as she is a minor and can not have an account Virgin active went and opened a account on my daughters name at the age of 12 / 13 that we did not know of as she was a a dependent on my husbands account they now insisting on the money for my daughters account the more i say she did not have an account and she could not have as she was 12 / 13 they want the money she now cant go gym until i have paid that money yet they have paid up letter on hubbies name i think this is ******* what can i do about this please
