Not a member but got handed to Attorneys to pay
I will keep posting this review until the attorneys leave me alone.
A year ago that I tried to join Virgin Active. I did the application online. After 2 weeks of not hearing ANYTHING from them, no membership email, no welcome email and no membership card, not able to access the app, I decided to go to the branch at Centurion Lifestyle Center and find out what is happening. I told the office / receptionist worker that I joined online. They could not find me online but he said that sometimes it takes a while for the membership to be activated. While I was there, I asked them how the personal training works and signed up a 500 package for a few sessions with the personal trainer, which I paid with card at the branch.
Then time came for my session, which was a hassle to communicate with the personal trainer and get a time that is suitable to the trainer. I arrived on the morning (still with no membership card), the personnel let me in with one of their cards. I had the session and left. After a time struggling with the personal trainer's time schedule AGAIN and him making no effort to accommodate me, I decided not to go back - at all. A month went by with NO one contacting me, not even the personal trainer to follow up about the sessions I still have left, NOTHING. Still no email, no debit order off my account, no membership card, NOTHING. I could not even access any information on their app, because I wasn't a member.
So eventually someone from accounts contacted me, probably a month and a half later, asking me when I am paying my account. I explained to her that I am not a member, since I did not receive a membership confirmation, a membership card or made use of their services. I do not have ACCESS to the gym, how can I be a member. She put the phone down on me and that was it.
Today I received a call from attorneys for the second time, because Virgin Active has handed me over to them as I am not paying my account.
WHERE is the communication of my account being in arrears, WHERE is an email sent to me showing a statement that I am a member and showing the amount outstanding. I don't have ANY of that.
How does that work???? I am not paying Virgin Active a single cent. I want proof of account statements that were sent to me, I want proof that I received my membership card and that I have used it.
