No Pool access, No Notice, No Respect for Disabled Members
The pool hoist for disabled users at Loftus has been out of order for almost two weeks, and not a single message was sent to members—despite requests for communication.
As a disabled person, going to the gym is not a casual trip. It takes planning, effort, and energy. To arrive and simply be told, “you can’t swim, the hoist is out of order,” and be sent home is unacceptable.
Basic communication could have prevented this. A simple WhatsApp or SMS update would save disabled members from making a wasted trip.
Accessibility isn’t just about having equipment—it’s about maintaining it and communicating when it’s unavailable. Right now, that standard is not being met.
I expect a refund for the periods when the facility is not unusable, and proper communication going forward.
