No notification that the gym would be closed

I love the Virgin Active gym in Westville. The facilities are top notch and the gym is very well maintained.<br> I enjoy the heated pool. I spoke on LotusFM on 29 June 2015 as an invited guest doctor on the importance of hygiene at any gym.<br> <br> As a full time medical practitioner in a solo practice and author whose work has won both the Olive Schreiner and Nadine Gordimer prizes, I lead an exceptionally busy life. With the Durban International Film Festival almost upon us, I needed to get in as many sessions at the gym as possible. I am an accredited media commentator for the Festival. <br> I have had the odd sms that the gym would be closed but tonight there was no warning at all. No sms, no whats app and no email that my excellent gym, where I have been a member since 2007 would be closed.<br> I drove all the way from Sydenham to Westville for no purpose on 5 July 2015 at 5,30 pm. The fact that there was not a stream of gym enthusiasts going to the facility meant that most people must have been notified.<br> This is so disappointing. Virgin Active have always been very professional and hospitable.<br> What happened? <br>
