No masks at the POINT!!

I returned to gym at the Point in Green Point for the first time last week, after months of isolating at home because of Covid. I was horrified that NINETY percent of people were NOT wearing masks. I went to the lady at the counter today to report it, and she told me that as long as people were social distancing or doing very strenuous exercise, they did not need to wear a mask. She then made an announcement over the PA asking all clients to wear their masks, which everyone ignored!! I asked one of the personal trainers if this was allowed, he shrugged and said in a very disinterested manner that if I was unhappy I should report it to the manager!! I never saw ONE member of staff telling a client to wear a mask, in fact, I even saw a personal trainer giving a client boxing lessons, they were standing right next to each other, and neither one was wearing a mask!!! This is totally unacceptable. Virgin is sending out SMS’s all the time encouraging us to return to the gym, but you guys are not doing your bit to make it safe. Your staff are obviously not trained at all in how to deal with this crisis, surely they realize that if the Covid numbers continue rising ALL gyms will be closed again, causing great economic hardship for all Virgin staff??? I was really disappointed today, I enjoy going to the gym, but I will be very hesitant to go back again if you can’t sort out this problem. I called the gym when I got home and asked to speak to a manager, I was put through to a guy called Marlin, who refused to give me the telephone number of the regional manager, he did not seem at all interested in helping me.
