No benefits for adding kids to gym membership
I have been a member at the Roodepoort Virgin Active club for a number of years. I recently enrolled my two daughters (Aged 12 and 9) at the swim school at Virgin Active. My daughters have been part of the swim school for the past 4 weeks and I was instructed by the reception staff to get Virgin Active cards for them to access the premises. Last night I app**** for the cards but was then informed in order for Virgin Active to provide me with these cards, they have to take up membership under my name which will cost R83 p/month. On further enquiries with the consultant I asked if my daughters would receive any sort of promotional items such as the kit bag and kids back pack that is being advertised. The response was no, they don't get anything as they don't qualify. I was informed by the consultant to call the Club manager (Paul Twemlow). He provided me with the same feedback which I find appalling. I spend R480 p/child p/month, plus R83 for membership, which equates to R563 pm and R6756 p/year and they refuse to provide us with these promotional items. This excludes my monthly gym membership. Would Virgin Active rather have me cancel the membership and look to join another club?
