Misleading salesman at Virgin Active Menlyn

The salesman Katlego Mabogwana led me under false pretenses to sign a contract he told me was a 12 month contract. I found out this week he made me sign the wrong contract (a 24 month contract which I specifically requested I DO NOT WANT).

I have a huge problem with virgin active. Last year to my knowledge I signed a one year contract at Virgin Active Menlyn, and my ex was with me and also signed a one year contract. Note it was not a physical contract so I signed on a tablet and the sales guy verbally went through our contracts (which was the same one year contract). I also never received a copy of my contract.

It should have ended this year in March, but they kept on deducting money from my account. They called me to say my account is in arrears, and I told them my contract is only 12 months which they declined and said my contract is 24 months. I also asked them to look at my ex's contract, and his is 12 months. Why would I sign a 24 month contract and he only a 12 month contract while sitting next to each other? I don't even like the gym. This was just a silly thing I wanted to do with him.

It's been two months of continues calls only for them to send me the contact, that is 24 months, signed by me (which I definitely would not agree to).

I am now 2 months behind in payment and the cancellation fee is going to be a huge amount.
