Membership Cancellation
I am not impressed at all with Virgin Active. I am a main member and I had my son under me since he was 14 or 15 years, not really sure. He recently turned 18 and his membership was going to change and be more expensive for me. A consultant called me around November 2023 prior to Obanzi (my son) turning 18years. The consultant made me aware of this and I immediately asked that they cancel my son's membership. Fast forward January 1st 2024 a debit order of R540 went out, which was completely fine because that's my membership fee alone. Also same amount on February 1st 2024. On the 1st of March 2024, a debit order of R800 went off. I almost got a heart attack. I didn't understand why, tried to call the call center with no luck. Until this afternoon when a consultant called me regarding this issue. According to the consultant I agreed on a 3months discount of some sort under Obanzi's membership so the R800 was my R540 and R260 for Obanzi. I know I did not agree to this. I demand for a call recording of me agreeing this!!! As if that was enough, today's consultant who goes by the name Ilisha from retentions department, had a nerve to tell me that he should be talking to my son and not me who is the account holder. I find this completely ridiculous and its the reason why I demand a call from management who will resolve this matter. According to Ilisha, there is a 20days cancellation policy of some sort and that I will still be eligible to pay another R800 on the 1st of April! Mind you I am getting this information from Obanzi. I feel disrespected by Virgin Active, I demand a refund of the R260 that was taken on the 1st of March and for Virgin Active to not even dare try debit my account with R800 on the 1st of April.
