MBD charging for their services after paying outstanding Virgin Active amounts

I joined Virgin Active for a few months thinking this was a pay as you go service. As an entrepreneur I loathe getting into contracts which have hidden clauses. After a few months of not going to the Gym I got the shock of my life when MBD calls and sends sms' that I owe Virgin Active. Wary about my credit record, I went to Virgin active to pay outstanding amounts. The salesperson told me I either pay half of the amount if I want to continue with my membership or pay the full amount to terminate my membership. I paid the full amount only to hear a few days later from MBD that I still owe them. My disappointment is that I have paid amounts for the gym I did not use and now am still chased by MBD for fees I do not know about. I hope Virgin active sees this and gets MBD to close their file on me as I have paid the full amount as stated by the Virgin Active salesperson. BEWARE OF THE FALSE IMPRESSION that Virgin Active gives that their gym membership is a pay as you go service. I have taken it upon myself to go on every platform to share this until Virgin Active instructs MBD to close my file. I do not owe anything anymore!
