Lost belongings taken by admin staff

I left some of my personal belongings at the gym on Thursday and expected to get it back when I went 3 days later as they have a 3 week collection policy for lost items. I was told by the manager that the admin lady came in the previous day and took all the lost items so I could not get it back. Is this a benefit that is promoted by Virgin Active for their admin staff? Absolutely disgusted by this!!!
