Less than Helpful

On 16/01/2017 I went to the Virgin Active Randburg (Malibongwe) branch. Upon arrival at the gym entrance there was a car in front of mine that went through successfully after the sensor opened. When it was my turn to go through, the sensor did not work and I ended up having to reverse and approach the gate again to try get the sensor to work, this then caused a disturbance for the cars behind me. When all this was happening the security guard proceeded to shout at me asking why I did not tailgate the car in front of me "because this thing has a sensor", he was extremely rude and I was taken aback as tailgaiting is generally not allowed because it poses a security risk.

I then proceeded to enter the gym and ask for the manager. The lady at reception (didn't get her name) asks me what happened and I relay my story thinking that she was going to relay it to the manager, however, after I tell her my story she calls the manager and says nothing so now I have to tell the story again. So now I'm highly upset because reception lady had ZERO intention of helping me and it came across as if she just wanted to get the story to go and gossip.

So then the "manager" (didn't get her name either) arrives and again I have to relay the story of how I was treated rudely at the gate and that the sensor seems faulty and needs to be fixed . I told the lady that the security guard cannot tell me to tailgate the car in front of me becuase if anything happens to my tyres he will not be able to contribute and the gym will probably show me a disclaimer of sorts absolving them of any liability. This second lady I spoke to also turns out to not be the manager but advised she would give my details and complaint to the manager the following day.

I asked that I be given feedback regarding the matter and she agreed to give me feedback, however she took NONE of my details down.

I was and still am awaiting this feedback.

This is not the first time I have had an unpleasant experience at this very same gym. On the previous occasion I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt however it seems that the stff at that particular branch beleive that they are doing memebers a favour by working at the gym. I have paid insane amounts over the past 4 years for the Virgin Active Gym Membership, it is NOT FREE so there is a certain level of service that is expected of the staff members.
