Laywers Threats

It is very unfortunate that I would have to write a review as follow;

I have been supporting Virgin Active since the age of 16 and I am currently 26. I have paid me due and have always had good comments about their services.

I have been retrenched 6 months ago and unfortunately not had any source of income since. I have brought this to the Accounts departments attention the moment I had knowledge of my retrenchment and requested my account to be stopped via email on 25 Aug 2017, please note that that at this point I was asked to pay an arear amount of R 900.

It is now 13 November 2017 and I have been officially handed over to your collections company for an amount of R 4503.60,

No freezing of the account took place etc even though this option is given to the general public, and if I calculate correctly I am astonished as to how much interest is being charged on the amount accumulated and 3 months later to my inquiry the amount grew from R 900 to R 4503.60.

This is not adding up and is saddening to see how one is treated in this regard, Please can some assists in answer as the lady from the collections company could not have a conversation with me and seemed not to understand her function or how to handle the matter and confused (Very unprofessional for a collections company).
