Lack of security

My iPhone 6 plus was locked away in the valuable lockers under camera surveillance while I was having a workout. By the time I had finished, I noticed my phone was gone. My wallet with R400 and car keys weren't taken, just my phone. When I went to reception to report this, there were another 3 guys standing there, who'd had the same thing happen to them. All of their valuables were locked away. We asked the manager how someone was able to pick each of our locks without any of the Virgin Active staff noticing? He was unable to answer us and instead apologized for the inconvenience. We then asked if we could check the surveillance camera's and pin point who it was, as the ***** could very well still be in the building. They told us they were unable to, as they'd received strict instructions from head office not to. Two security guards stood at the exit door, but were not allowed to search anyone leaving the gym. I then realized that Virgin Active does not take any measures to assure your valuables are protected, even though there are cameras up everywhere and staff watching. From now, I'd rather gym from the safety of my own home than at any Virgin Active gym.
