Lack of Accountability and response

I have being a loyal Virgin active member for as long as I can remember - my experience with health club was pleasant until I received communication that my membership fee will be increased by 100 % from 01-01-2018, to my shock I did not believe this so I inquired with my local health club which is Virgin Maponya - unfortunately the staff there were of no help as the only thing they could do is provide possible reasons as to why my membership would double. I was referred to the call centre where I was assisted by Vuyo Quwe , she indicated that when I joined the Virgin Active the discount given to me through Vitality was incorrectly captured and she would log a query for the matter to be investigated this was over two weeks ago and I am still waiting for feedback. This was very poor service especially when Richard Branson said "All you have in business is your reputation - so it’s very important that you keep your word" - unfortunately the Virgin active staff do not see it that way. To further aggravate the situation I was told that I will be charge a fee of R255 as a pro-rata for 11 days of gym for cancelling my membership - this is quite ridiculous as I am currently paying R185. I asked Vuyo Quwe to explain this phenomenon to me and the best she could do is that they do not consider weekends - meaning that I would be paying R500 for 22 days of gym. I thought maybe because I am not qualified in understanding the algorithm used to determine how much more I would be disadvantaged money wise, I asked her to apply logic to this matter but unfortunately she gave me yet another high level response which I could not understand – clearly I was not a priority at that time. If this is the type of assistance and service I am receiving for being a loyal member at Virgin Active then I reckon it is time for me to consider another health club to cater to my health requirements. I do not believe that this is the product that Richard Branson Invested in. Regards REUBEN SINGO
