It's only going to get worse, make a plan people

I am very disappointed that since 2010 Virgin Active Waterfall Mall still haven't got any generators. Every time we go to gym and the electricity is off they come to a stand still. The studio and kids club is affected and since those are the places we use the most it's a huge problem for us. I joined the gym mainly for zumba and now there are no zumba classes because there's no electricity. It's only going to get worse so what now? Everything has to stop because of it? We can't leave the children at Club V because the emergency lights just hold for a while and then it goes off and it's pitch dark. So they move the kids to a unsecured location in the lounge area where they can either get injured or worse walk out of the gates because it's left open due to the lack of electricity. What if your child walks out with someone else or gets kidnapped? Or walks out in front of a car? Everytime you complain they just say Head office won't approve generators mail them yourself and if you do the site says please contact your branch manager? Now what? This is unacceptable, I will contact CGCSA for assistance with cancelling my contract without paying any cancellation fees if they don't wake up.

Hello dillenreghardt,

Thank you so much for taking my call today.

We understand that load shedding can be disruptive and frustrating for all concerned. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused when you are training in our clubs.

In a few of our clubs, we do have back-up facilities that supply enough emergency power for a short period but not to operate the full facilities in the club for an extended period. We are exploring as many alternatives as possible but like many businesses in South Africa, all face the same challenges of balancing service, significant costs increases and impact on the environment.

Please approach your club general manager with your concerns to keep these lines of communication open. We do listen and assure you that we will do our best to address the problems as they arise.

Regards
Robyn
