Is bullying and PEDS acceptable?

<p>After throughly reading through the Virgin Active rules and policies, I have realised how poor certain situations are dealt with. And how a blind eye is turned to certain rules that are broken by Management and Staff.</p> <p> </p> <p>Virgin active have stated numerous times that they are doping free and that they have a zero tolerance policy for this, yet if you complain or even name this there is a blind eye turned by management. I have been the victim of bullying, hate speech, demeaning behaviour and provocation in the gym. When I complained to management or mentioned this, I was told that I am not allowed to ask the people why they constantly critisize , belittle or openly try and insult me in front of other gym members. This happens to numerous gym members and a lot of this behaviour comes from the bodybuilders in the gym that use PEDS. The most shocking part is that personal trainers and Fitness instructors use them as well and when you mention this in your complaint it is ignored, yet the manager, Mariska, has been made aware of this a few times.</p> <p> </p> <p>In the past when I complained I was told there is no evidence and that it is my word against theirs. Yet, this time and the last time the video footage proved otherwise. You are thrown out of the gym and the letter states evidence was used, but what evidence? Where is the proof? So someone can accuse you of anything if they dont like you?</p> <p>It seems like when you are a victim of this you are not allowed to act, complain or anything. You must accept and tolerate it.</p> <p> </p> <p>Today I was suspended from Virgin Active, no proof or reasoning was used. They told me its because I have been involved in incidents before, but all these incidents involved complaints over bodybuilders being aggresive or very hateful towards me and other members, and where I stood up for myself. People accused me of something and had no proof, yet I was suspended with no warning or any physical evidence. And this is after enduring the same hate speech and provocation from the same group of guys for almost three years now. </p> <p> </p> <p>I honestly don't understand how a manager can let some cases go and give people warnings, and suspend other people with no warning. I also don't understand how a manager can overlook the use of PEDS by staff and members, if she is fully aware of the Virgin Active Rule book, but has a zero tolerance for something else. And this is after numerous complaints over the same people, and theelse people who started the problems never received any warnings or investiagtion into the complaints over them. I honestly feel that I always stood up for myself after receiving heavy hate speech and criticism in the gym from a group of guys. </p> <p> </p> <p>It saddens me that it has come to this, but I realised that Vigin Active, especially Virgin Active Showgrounds located in Bloemfontein, turns a blind eye to certain rules that are broken. Its very atrocious that management can go and show your photos to other people and say they have a problem with you, but they fully ignore your side of the story and fail to recognize anything you complain about.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am very sorry, but lots of people in your gym are victims of this. Start implementing better systems and start sticking to your rules and policies. Its very bad if you have a yo-yo mindset over rules and regulations. And I honestly hope this will change, you are losing a lot of customers because of this. I feel that I complained a few times when U was asked what is wrong and every time my complaints was overlooked. </p> <p> </p> <p>Very unhappy customer.</p>
