Incorrect arrears account

I have been with Virgin Active since I can remember and in 2013, I canceled my membership because I moved to Johannesburg. I am now back in Pretoria and want to re-join. I went there yesterday to rejoin, and their system says that my account from back in 2013 is in arrears of R1110. This is not possible! I am 100% sure it was all settled when I left. They had a look on their system logs and you can see the following:

1. The date that I sent in cancellation requests
2. Their reply that said they will give me another 2 free months to decide if I really want to cancel my account.
3. The follow up cancellation request.
4. The cancellation request was successful

Now, how unfair is this that they now after 3 years tune me I owe R1110... That is shocking. That after they successfully canceled my membership.

So I told the lady that this is wrong they must double check. She phoned me today and said they could not find anything, but they will settle and allow me to pay half (only R555) and then they will clear it off. This is nice of Virgin Active, but I don't owe anything!!! R0 not R555.

I think they are chancing their arm. How can I go about checking this up?
