Identity Theft Happening at Virgin Active

If you've had a cancelled/expired contract with Virgin Active, you need to confirm that you're not a victim of identity theft. I tried to join with them on Sunday and they told me I cant because I have an outstanding amount with them. Long story short, the signed contract confirms that someones used my details to join their gym in a location I've never been to, only the signature, contact and bank details aren't mine. They didn't feel the need to get a proof of identification from the person and they used all the exact same details as when I used to be at virgin years ago. It seems like their own staff use details of old contracts and sign them up again to make more commission on sales. Because its your ID number they are using, it could lead to your credit score being affected. So far, nobody from head office has contacted me back to give me feedback or even remove the amount that's owed. Have to file a police report now stating that my identity has been ****** and report it to every credit bureau in South Africa to safeguard myself against future attacks now. Not only bad service but *****ing your identity, nice one virgin.
