I lost my job on 31 July 2018 until now I do not work and very broke. I joined virgin active for all good intentions, I have been with them for a number of years. So I was at the point where I have to cancel services that are not essential. Virgin Active forces its customers pay a cancellation fee of 40%, which is impossible when you expect no remuneration, I mean can't even afford to go to the gym in the first place? When I said I do not have that money they suggested a 50% freeze for 2 months, I objected that and requested a 100% freeze even though I didn’t know what will happen after 2 months if I do not get a job…I did not want to get out contract but I was forced by circumstances, so they agreed for a 100% freeze. After a month I was barraged by calls saying I should pay, sometimes I would get about 3 nasty calls in a day, all of them didn’t want to hear my explanation, according them this was not possible, they do have a recording which I kept referring them to. After a month and few days It got to a point where I decided to terminate my contract as I felt that was breach, I felt so humiliated it was an additional pain to the fact that I do not have a job, and it continues. Today I am receiving threatening letter from lawyers, I cannot pay even if I wanted to, and the amount is growing every day. You go to Virgin active to be healthy, but they can be the ones who **** you.
