I feel ******
I visited Virgin Active towards the end of 2014 to sign up to gym. The sales representative who was on duty informed me rather hastily of all the various contracts, specifically the contract where if you are part of Discovery Medical aid you pay a large deposit up front and the monthly charges are small. Unfortunately on that day I did not have required amount of cash on me, so the sales consultant 'urged' me to sign a contract where I pay around R200 for a deposit and the monthly instalments would be just over R300 so I could get the limited offer virgin active bag that was available as part of the sign up, and we agreed to meet the next evening to change my account to the first mentioned contract. I returned the following evening but the sales agent that helped me was not on duty, I returned a few days later to try and do my induction, but there was not a single agent available to do my induction and have not returned since or contacted. Now I have moved to town and the building I stay in has a gym so I would like to cancel my contract but refuse to pay the R2500 cancellation fee for something I have not even been using. I feel very mislead about the contract I signed.
Thank you so much for taking my call today.
On behalf of Virgin Active I would like to apologise for the encounter you have experienced.
As discussed, i have explained our cancellation procedure and terms, I have however addressed your concerns with the club general manager, Kara, and feedback will be given shortly.
Kindest regards
Robyn
