*****s!!
Appalling Service!!! I have never made use of Virgin Active even though I had Discovery Vitality benefits.
The day my wife and I decided to give it a try was in January 2019. We were told that it was a two-month free trial (Promotional adverts). I was happy with this arrangement because at least I could try the facility and if I was happy, I would join on a contractual basis. The consultant at the time confirmed that I could join now and cancel again in March 2019.
On the day of signing the contract, I made use of the facility and I was NOT impressed. The consultants were rude, the customer service was disgusting and I honestly felt unwelcome. Hence, I told my consultant to cancel my contract via WhatsApp. At the end of February 2019, I received a call from Virgin Active asking about my contract and when can they expect payment from me. I directed them back to my consultant as I have already canceled my contract. During the weekend of the 9th March, the general manager of Virgin Active Lorraine (Charlene Kemp) gave me a call asking me the same questions, I referred her to the consultant again, she called me a few minutes later and apologized for the lack of communication and assured me that she would personally cancel the contracts between Virgin active and us.
months later, I received a call from Shapiro Shaik attorneys stated that my account was handed over. Can you imagine my Frustration at that time!!!
I called Virgin Active Lorraine and demanded to speak to Charlene, to my surprise she no longer worked there (I wondered why), so they directed my call to the new GM Gary Pritchard. He refused to assist me and ended up stating that H/O has given me a 50% discount on my contract fees, which I should settle and on the terms that I sign a new 2-year deal. He was blatantly rude throughout the discussion, I had to email him thereafter so that he could listen to my story before stating his point.
To date, nothing has been amended my contracts are still handed over and I refuse to pay for a service that wasn't rendered. For a contract that was supposed to be canceled. For a consultant that made me sign a contract under false pretense.
I know that this complaint will fall into the atmosphere but it's the only platform that I can communicate with you because all other platforms have fallen through the rug!
