***** - VIRGIN ACTIVE TABLEVIEW

Possibly the worst gym experience I have ever had.

I went to see a consultant in the Tableview, Cape Town branch by the name of Marvin.

It was my first time inquiring about joining a gym so I had no idea what was going on. Firstly, Marvin told me that for R499 I would get a national membership but that I needed to sign a document to see if I would qualify for the special they were running.

Secondly - I was told that should my application be successful I would have to pay the joining fee.

After hearing nothing from them I found out they had signed me up to a 24 month contract without my consent, I have never paid a joining fee EVER - in fact I have Whatsapp conversations from Marvin stating that he had gone and paid MY joining fee out of his pocket ??? This is ***** ! I was explicit in saying that I am not committing to anything as yet as I was exploring my options, and still he took it upon himself to sign me up and pay my joining fee without my knowledge ???

To make matters worse - Virgin Active has handed me over and are demanding over R 6000 in gym fees - through a company called VMM ?

I have contacted the branch SEVERAL times, and explained this to the Manager (Jaco) as well as the accounts department SEVERAL times - only to never hear back from them again.

I find this service to be disgusting and not only will I never ever do business with Virgin again, I intend on taking this matter further legally as I have all of the above in writing and I will continue to encourage every person I know not to ever sign up with them !

The service is **********, dishonest, and quite frankly appalling.
