Forced to leave gym due to no back-up power or lighting during load shedding.

Went to the gym (Virgin Active Middelburg) this morning at 05:00. After 5 minutes, load shedding hit the club. The club has no back-up power, and the back-up (or emergency) lights were not working. We were told to leave the club as it was "unsafe" to exercise in the dark. Disappointed, I drove back home, driving past Planet Fitness (which is less than 500m away, and also had load-shedding). They have a generator and I could see from the outside everything was working 100%. I could actually see how everyone was exercising and probably did not even know the power was off. In this day-and-age in South Africa, how can a company as large as Virgin Active, not be prepared for load-shedding, not to mention that the back-up lighting that does not work.
