On the 22nd January 2016 virgin active was at Protea Gardens Shopping Centre for signing up new members. I was approached by one of the sales representative and he explained to me about the membership. He also mentioned to me that if I had a child I could also take my child to the gym and I needed to provide the child's birth certificate to prove that he or she is my dependent with no additional fee. When I got to the gym on the 29th January 2016 with my daughter, to my surprise she was not being allowed to go in. I asked what was the problem they said that the child needs a get her own card and she must pay for it and a monthly fee must be paid for the child separate from what I am paying for myself. I explained to the gentleman at the reception that, I was told that when I come in I should proved a birth certificate as proof that she was my daughter and a card will be given to her at no cost and she was covered in my membership fee that I have signed up for. I choose the off pick option which is the contract I signed up for, that is R280.00 p.m. The guy at the reception called the sales representative who signed me up and he is still confirming what he has said to me that day.
