FALSE INFO TO GAIN ME AS A NEW MEMBER!! ********!!

If I could give zero stars I would definitely do so! These people come to our workplace and I THOUGHT it was a good idea to sign up since I was getting a fairly good deal and I was somewhat "cutting the ques" for registering. Little did I know what I was getting myself into, I am so upset at myself for even giving them the time of day. The guy who was registering me told me that I needed to pay R50 registration fee and that I would get two months free given the promotion that was running at the time. I told the guy that my budget was tight and even taking out that R50 would be a struggle because its money I didn't necessary plan on using and he assured me that I will be paying that R50 and a debit order that amounts to R610pm would go off after two months. To my surprise I got a debit order a week later later of R610!!!!!!! I made countless calls to the contact centre and different Virgin Active branches including the one that guy said he works as a personal trainer at but no luck in finding him. I wanted clarity because maybe I did not hear him correctly. I GOT NO HELP FROM NEITHER OF THE CALLS MADE SO I REVERSED THE DEBIT ORDER.

This morning I got a call from their accounts department telling me that I am owing R560 and when I explained to Olwethu that I will NOT be paying he became rude and said "its fine mam" and hung up. Very rude! So I called the call centre again and I told them I want to cancel and I was then told I have to pay a cancellation fee of R2460 and if I do not pay it I will be left in arrears.

I am SOOOO upset with myself and feel so stupid for registering with this stupid company! I did ask the guy about cancellation and HE SAID there would be NO CANCELLATION FEE and it would be hassle free if I wanted to cancel. May mistake was not going through the contract at the time because I asked all the questions I felt I needed clarity on before handing my money over like that but ALL THE INFORMATION I GOT WAS WRONG! Just so that they can get a new member!? I feel cheated and will ensure that everyone I know does not join. These people are *******! SIES
