EXPIRED CONTRACT... TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...
HI there,
As we all know, gyms were frozen sometime last year due to COVID..... I've been a member with VIRGIN ACTIVE for about 2+ years.. First signed up by a consultant called Thuli at Cresta Mall and I went for the full access and was a regular at the Cresta branch until I moved jobs, I went to various branches and downgraded my package to Soweto sometime ago. My contract with them ended in October 2020. (During the time it was frozen due to COVID)... Upon them unfreezing the account, I leave it and think I'm done with this contract and won't have to worry about them again.. Someone calls me from collections for an unpaid membership fee to which I contest stating that my contract ended and after our back and forth I demand she cancels my contract with immediate effect. I got to the branch and pay immediately and go for the remaining number of days sometime in Jan I think... Needless to say, I have been seeing payments bouncing from my account and finally decide to settle this today telephonically for them to advise that I have to pay R1110 in arrears for a membership contract that HAS EXPIRED WHICH IMENTION ON THE CALL AND ON TWITTER DMS... THIS IS THE RESPONSE I GET "Hi Phumzile, the contract is an auto-renewal contract and will automatically continue on a month to month basis after the commitment period unless you inform us to cancel. Please send us your membership card or ID number so we can assist. Regards, Tracy-Lee"
I CONTESTED THIS ARREARS AMOUNT AND STILL CONTEST IT AS I WAS NEVER MADE AWARE OF THIS WHEN SIGNING UP WITH THULI, I WAS NEVER MADE AWARE OF THIS WHEN I TRIED CANCELING THE FIRST TIME, I AM STILL AWAITING A COPY OF MY COTRACT AS PER MY CONVERSATION WITH Siphokazi Mamafe... HOW IS IT NOW I AM CHARGED FOR A MONTH-TO-MONTH MEMEBRSHIP THAT I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR, THAT I DO NOT USE..... NOW I AM BUL**** TO PAY MONEY I DO NOT HAVE FOR SOMETHING I HAVE EXPRESSED I DO NOT WANT ANYMORE. I still have all my conversations with Thuli where I asked to cancel.
