Expected to pay for Virgin Active errors!

Being a Virgin Active member for some time, I activated my Vitality in January. An amount was payable upon activation which I specifically asked if it was due to being a Premium member so that I could change it to a Club membership and activate Vitality at a later stage. I was advised by the consultant that it doesn't have anything to do with the type of membership (on numerous occasions!) and they issued a receipt which serves as a proof of payment that I do not need to pay. Just to receive an email a month later about an overdue account! Not even mentioning the fact that the debit order went off based on normal rates (not Vitality rates) AND Virgin Active having issues to refund the difference!

Over the course of the last five months I was promised that this will be sorted out where my queries have been ignored, calls not returned and I kept receiving emails of an overdue account!!

Virgin Active admitted to providing the wrong information to me and that it is their fault, but just apologised and said \you need to pay"!! Do we really need to put up billboards with complaints for service providers to start taking responsibility for their actions and just do their jobs properly??"""
