Endless harassment by Virginactive and refusal to cancel service

In June 2025, before leaving the country to work overseas, my daughter and I paid several visits to Virginactive Loftus Park to get her membership cancelled. I did not insist on a written confirmation (my oversight), so I could not prove the cancellation during later correspondence, but the club assured me that this had been done I paid not further notice to my monthly payment. Records show that my daughter's last visit to the club was on 27 June 2025. Following several complaints about broken equipment and hygiene of the shower facilities, I cancelled my own membership in October 2026 and did not pay attention to this until I realised in December that Virginactive was still deducting money from my account. I enquired and went back to the club when we were back from holiday. They told me that the payments were for my daughter's membership, which had never been cancelled. I cancelled it again at the club and this time insisted on the cancellation form as proof that it had been done. The club told me that I had to pay for her last month's membership to enable them to effect cancellation, which I did. Today Virginactive head office called my daughter again and told her that they refuse to cancel her membership. I do not know what to do anymore. We have been through the cancellation process twice now since last year. What more do they want? We have done the paperwork and comp**** with everything they told us to do twice now and they are still trying to ****** money from us. It is a faceless organisation where you cannot call anybody at head office and it is clear that the clubs do not know what they are doing. All I want to do is never see their broken equipment, smell their neglected showers or have to deal with their dishonest membership process again.

This morning a Virginactive called my daughter, perhaps to follow up, and promptly put down the phone on her when she asked the name of the person she was talking to.
