Empty Promises and lack of communication
I signed up for the May 2021 promotion at the Eco-Park Gym. This is what I was told that it included. 2 x Session with personal trainer 30 day training program 30 day meal plan If you come 4 times in the month you will get the month for free. This was applicable for the first two months. Personal Trainer: I had to ask several times, I was also cancelled on after making an appointment. Eventually I had a training session with someone. He did a full body workout, which did not include any gym machines apart from the treadmill. The machines inside a Gym can be very intimidating if you are new and do not know what they do. I would have expected the session to be about what each machine does and the correct way to use them. I also only received one session and not two.
Training program and meal plan: I expected to receive this with the personal trainer. I understand that the system was offline but surely they should be able to have gotten a printed copy from somewhere. I made it very clear that this was important to me because I had recently moved out on my own and it would have helped greatly. I never received this.
Billing: I was billed within the first month of joining the Gym. They tried to take money off on the 16th of the month. This was a public holiday and in the middle of the month. There were not enough funds in the account and therefore I incurred a cost of R110.00. I never received any communication in this regard. I spoke to the sales rep about this and he assured me that he will sort this out. I was again billed on the 1st. This should have been free as I had been to the Gym more than 4 times. I brought this to his attention as well. Again I was promised but nothing.
I was also billed for the second month, however I had covid and I am not sure if I had been to the gym at least 4 times.
I have tried continuously to get hold of support. I have Spoken to the sales rep. (Keep receiving empty promises) Phoned the get in touch hotline several times Emailed *** Spoke to the ladies at the front desk
From the above issues I can clearly see that I am not valued as a customer to the gym. I have not received what was agreed upon when signing up. I understand that the system was hacked, however I would expect that customer retention would be a top priority. There should be a team communicating with and sorting out customer issues. (hence the email: ***)
Over the last couple of months I have tried to get the issue resolved but I am not receiving any feedback. I tried to cancel but was told that I needed to pay a two month cancellation fee and that I owed them money. Why should I have to pay when they did not hold up their end of the deal?
Are my issues irrelevant and am I in the wrong?
