Double debits for the same family from two bank accounts

I do not visit the gym but my wife does. I asked her why she lists Virgin at month end to her allowance needs because I pay Virgin. (She became a home maker). She told me she pays it but in actual fact we both pay the membership. Upon countless enquiries and requests to rectify (to no avail) I decided to cancel the debit order. I am now handed over to lawyers where in fact I paid double for 5 years. They are a arrogant bunch but my lawyer will sue them for the over charge.
