Disrespectful Employees

I went to the gym this morning. After exercising, I quickly went to wash my hair and shower thereafter, decided to dry my hair as anyone would. Now I have a thick mane of African hair which soaks up water and can take a while to get dry.

While drying my hair, the fire alarm went off. I thought it was a drill until one of the employees approached me and asked if there was smoke while I was drying my hair…obviously there was. She informed me that it triggered the fire alarm and I then said it was weird as it was not my first time using the hair dryer at that gym but would stop drying my hair if the alarm went off again. I laughed it off thinking it was nothing major and went about my business.

A few moments later, another virgin active employee said “your hair is the talk of the town, especially how it triggered the fire alarm.” I laughed it off, thinking it is a joke until the second employee informs me that it was said that I am misusing the hair dryer, drying my hair like I don’t have a hair dryer at home.

To say that I am drying my hair like there is no hair dryer at home is pure disrespect. I doubt that I would have been able to afford Virgin Active membership for over a year if I did not afford a hair dryer.

It would be lovely if the Virgin Active employees who think I do not have a hair dryer would be me one, seeing as they are loud mouths or they need to shut up if they have nothing productive to say.

As a paying customer at Virgin Active Vanderbijlpark, I have every right to use the facilities I am billed for, that includes the hair dryer.
