Dishonest sales representatives

I was contacted by the retentions department after cancelling my contract. I was told that because Virgin active wants me to be healthy blah blah that they wanted to offer me my contract back at half price. This sounded amazing and I accepted. At no point did the sales rep tell me that after 2 months it would revert back to the original price. On top of the other lies and deceit Virgin active took the FULL AMOUNT off of my account. I have since tried to sort this out and have been promised a return phone call by managers etc four times, but NOT ONCE has anyone kept to their word and called back. I even resorted to going into the gym so that I could sort it out face to face, again none of the promises were honoured. This is unacceptable and shocking service and I am disgusted by the lack of ethics and morals.
