DIshonest and disloyal money-grabbers

I find that at every interaction with VA, I'm left severely angered or disappointed. 1. Written many complaints to VA Hillcrest club and they go ignored - ppl training without shoes, incorrect debit order amounts, club times incorrect on app regularly, etc. 2. i also recommended they supply weight belts. as a reply i had a stroppy youngster barely out of puberty argue with me (exercising his new 3 month diploma knowledge) about why i needed to buy it myself. Page 1 of textbook reasoning. But my real complaint now is that in September 2025 I renewed my contract. I refused to renew it unless VA met me where I was at and came in under R700 a month. The (I verified her) sales consultant understood and over 2 days we negotiated and the amount was R649. Then in November the amount is increased to R849, January it becomes R890, and now March it is R1120. That’s nearly double what I wanted to pay! I’ve wasted R100 on phone calls to VA only to have it explained that the latest debit order was acknowledged as being incorrect and I would be immediately refunded 5-7 days. It’s now 9 days and will probably be 12 days on Monday because of weekend. This is my money – VA needs to not enjoy the interest gained in delaying immediate refund. Next, they said the Jan amount is because of inflation increase. The salesperson did NOT mention this at all during the 2 days negotiation when it was a showstopping stipulation that it remained under R700. I confirmed it on Whatsapp as well with her. I could have still accepted after 12 months an inflationary incr. But barely 2 months later is UNACCEPTABLE. I explicitly set my R700 limit with the salesperson. I would never have renewed my contract if I had known upfront. Instead VA hides behind some smallprint on the contract that I need glasses for to read when it was eventually sent to me. There is vague wording there around that, and refers to some untraceable “eternal rule book”. VA has been exceedingly dishonest at every point and there is zero goodwill in their contract and even has wording such as “we reserve the right to sommer just increase our fees whenever we feel”. Furthermore, the VA consultant salesperson I used in September has now deleted all her whatsapp messages. I explicitly confirmed the non-inflationary increase, as well as the R700 limit, as well as when I asked if I could hold her to account later when/if there are problems, as well as the amount staying consistent for 24 months - she said I could most definitely. Now I got nothing – except the hope that VA has recorded my phone calls. So I phoned VA again to terminate my contract – and they say I need to pay for 10 months upfront as penalty AND THAT I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO TRAIN DURING THOSE 10 months. The cheek of it ! So I asked to downgrade and they said no I can’t because I have a 24 month contract and not a 12 month contract. Do you see why I am so exasperated at VA’s disloyal and downright money-grabbing, inducement ?
