Disappointment and negligence of Virgin Active
Last month my debit Virgin Active debit order was unpaid which was my fault however I made a cash payment at my gym. Subsequently, Virgin Active decided to deactivate my debit order without informing me! So the debit order did not go out again this month. The debit order goes out every month on the 1st however apparently they called me once on the afternoon of 02/08/2017 to advise me of this and I did not answer the phone (bearing in mind that I work in the healthcare industry and we are not allowed to answer our phones during business hours, which Virgin Active is aware of since they signed us up at our place of employment). They did not contact me again until 11/08/2017 where the consultant told me that I am in arrears and then advised me that Virgin Active does not disable debit orders and I need to contact my bank. Subsequently, I did contact my bank and they told me that there were no issues on their side. I called Virgin Active yesterday around 16h30 and spoke to Nozi who despite Virgin Active's negligence decided to be cheeky with me about my apparent raised tone (I'm just a loud person) and she explained that once a debit order is unpaid Virgin Active stops debit orders until they speak to you. I asked her to send me confirmation of any calls that were made to me informing me of this via email and have received no communication from her to date. They wasted my time, energy and airtime and sent me on a wild goose chase!!! Pathetic service and absolutely unprofessional call centre agents who didn't even have the decency to apologize! I will be cancelling my contract with Virgin Active once it has ended. As far as I know, I am required to be notified of any actions on my account and if you are unable to call me, you may text or email me! However in this world of technological advancement, since I did not answer my phone, it was just one of those things and they just let it be. How very disappointing!
