<p> </p> <p>Disabled parking bays Meyersdal Gym.</p> <p>This morning 12th April 2017, on arriving for a workout at Meyersdal Gym, I noted a contractor’s (roof repairs) truck parked in the disabled bays at the entrance to the gym. As there are in excess of TWO HUNDRED parking bays not marked disabled use, I decided to raise this with the duty manager Claudio.</p> <p>He proceeded to start arguing with me about the merits of allowing a contractor to occupy a disabled parking bay. His arguments included:</p> <p>1. It was only stopped there (it was parked)</p> <p>2. There was driver inside (the cab was empty)</p> <p>3. There are people in it (the cab was empty)</p> <p>All of the above he saw from inside the gym at the top of the stairs where there are no windows facing the parking lot. Al of the arguments were also of course made from the perspective that he has legs that function perfectly well and he is ABLE to walk from anywhere he wants to anywhere he likes.</p> <p>His utterly callous attitude towards to people whose daily struggle is their own mobility is truly disgusting. In a gym where some of the members are actually less able than others, he clearly has no place making decisions for people less abled than him.</p>
