Customer care exploiting loyal customers

I've been a member of Virgin Active since Febuary 2010. In 2011 I got pregnant and had some complications I called Virgin active to ask them to cancel my contract since it had already lapsed. The agent told me that the contract renewed itself every year and I should rather freeze for 6 months but that would mean I would still be paying a certain amount every month. I accepted and kept paying the monthly fees. Then I got inactive for about two years and went back. In 2014 got pregnant again and then my gynae advised to slow down on the excersing again, at which point in Feb 2015 I called to say since my contract had lapsed again I would like to cancel. Again, another agent told me that the contract actually renewed itself again in January and I should freeze the account instead. Pregnant, tired and confused I gave into this lie again. Recently, I just went back to Virgin active to start my weight loss process again. Had conversations with some ladies in the bathroom and they told me they are on a one year contract, are allowed access anytime and yet they are paying R250 less than me. I let it go. Two weeks back, they were running a promotion to register children free instead of the R140 normally required, I went to register my kids and the consultant told me that I dont qualify for the free registration as Im on a month-to-month contract!!! All this time I had been told Im on a year contract that I can only get out with heavy penalties but instead Im on an expensive month to month contract! All of a sudden when I was supposed to get a small benefit of registering my childeren for free like all the other members who even pay less than me, I dont qualify! Furthermore, all these years (7 years) as a member, I have never recieved a single loyalty gift or anything, instead Ive been getting ********** under false pretences! Besides the fact they could have been honest about my contract having expired, they should have atleast advised me that my contract was on a month to month basis and I should opt for a cheaper option. Yes, businesses are there to make money and virgin active is a great gym, but to exploit people to this level is utterly disgusting!!!! And to even exploit their loyal customers is even worse to say the least!
