Cost cutting the most important thing?

<p>Dear Sirs,</p> <p>Upon arrival at the gym today I was smacked with the 30 degree summer heat we seem to be experiencing on the first real summer day Cape Town.</p> <p>I heard a few members complaining about the HEAT but automatically assumed it was mall related.</p> <p>I, later in my session, enquired with the staff and was nauseated to learn that the virgin active red gyms do not have air conditioning.</p> <p>One would think that a gym and air conditioning would go hand in hand!!!</p> <p>I understand that the red gyms cater to a somewhat 'cheaper' market, however, saving on not having air con in a gym is to me like cutting off your nose to spite your face.</p> <p>A air-cooled gym proves to be quite the opposite when there is zero free flowing air outside.<br />Never mind having to do a class in 30 degree heat.</p> <p>A fan simply will not save the problem either. </p> <p>I find it somewhat convenient that this was not mentioned to members upon signing up, and worry about the outcome when their memberships are up for renewal...</p> <p>Then..</p> <p>How do you expect your staff to be fully productive in conditions which in normal circumstances one would take extra measures to ensure you stay cool?</p> <p>Are you aware that in South Africa we have legislation that governs the temperatures which staff exposed to?</p> <p>After being on the premises for 20 minutes i unfortunately had to make my way out. YOUR POOR STAFF!!!!</p> <p>I hope that you will consider my complaint with the seriousness it deserves and relook your cost saving strategy in your virgin active red gyms.</p> <p>I await your further correspondence.</p> <p>Regards,<br />Gabbi Norkett<br /><br /></p>
