Corporate bullying at its best

I had a one year contract with Virgin Active the gym. In the contract Virgin Active was debiting payment from my account monthly. All was well with the payments, until one day just a few months before the end of my contract I received a call from one of their consultants. In the call I was asked that since my contract will be coming to en end will I be renewing it? I told them no I would not be renewing it as I could not even go to gym currently. All was well I continued with my life.

About for months later I receive calls stating that I owe Virgin Active! I was so shocked and surprised as the gym had the right time debit from my account until the last day of the contract.

So suddenly now I'm being hounded by these calls. When I check my bank statements I realised that for some reason Virgin Active decided to stop debiting the amount from my account after they had called me.

I had not noticed because I was not attending gym anyway. But I was angry that this inefficiency from the gym was now going to affect my credit.

So now I according to them I was owing, when the had the right to debit, and they stopped, on their own accord!

I told them I do not accept the debt, they then took legal action against me, and I am now being hounded by Shabir Shake attorneys on the same case. So I am supposed to pay for someones incompetence at Virgin Active? For some reason someone decided to stop debiting my account and I have to pay for it just because I don't have the corporate muscle? I relayed my case to the legal company hired by Virgin Active, and it is now clear to me that they do not care about my side, their interest is for me to admit guilt and pay for something I am not guilty of.

Please help, the constant calls have caused me a great deal of stress, and I am not coping anymore. All I know is that I cannot allow these to corporates to corner me just because I am an individual, and no one will hear my voice. Someone must be accountable yes, but is it really me? Why is all the blame shoved down on me? Is it because I am an individual with no corporate muscle? No this is wrong.
