Contract under false pretenses
I went to Virgin Active in December, and asked if I could pay for a month (I am not a member, only went there in November with a biokinetic). The consultant verbally told me that I need to become a member and then in January we could speak about joining for a year, which will work out about R147 a month.
End December a debitorder whent throug my account of R495. Early January the consultant phoned me, to come in and talk about the contract (me still not aware of the debit that went through on end Dec). I told him that it was imposslible for me to make it January (work related). But when I received my statements beginning of Feb, I saw the debit order of Dec and again in January. So I phoned them. Shuping told me that they will not cancel anything, and will get the manager, himself and the consultant to speak to me on Tuesday 10th Feb. He phoned me again the Monday, confirming the Manager is ill and will let me know what is going on.
I will not pay for this. Yes, I paid for the membership, but acording of what I was told it was for December. If I am wrong, why did he phone me in January to speak about the contract ? Why did they deduct money from my account ?
Thank you so much for taking my call today.
