Confrontational staff with zero understanding

I had a very disappointing experience the Vanderbijlpark branch. Shortly after starting my workout, I was approached by a staff member in a rude manner and told that I was not allowed to train wearing my current footwear. I explained that I am recovering from a severe burn injury on my foot, and the only shoes I am currently able to wear are Crocs with thick thermal socks. This has never been an issue before, as I have trained at other branches, including Groenkloof and Randburg, without any problems. The staff member then left to consult with someone else. When she returned, I was approached by a second staff member, who was also rude. I was told—reluctantly—that I could continue training, but only on two specific machines. I was not allowed to access the weight section, use cardio machines, or move into other areas of the gym. When I tried to clarify whether I could use other isolated machines, I did not receive a clear or helpful answer. The way this situation was handled was both unprofessional and unnecessarily confrontational. As someone who is already in constant pain and actively trying to recover through training, this treatment was extremely discouraging. I am doing my best to heal, and instead of support or understanding, I was met with hostility and restrictions that were not clearly explained. My footwear has never been an issue at other branches, which makes this experience even more confusing and frustrating. Why is this suddenly a problem at this specific location? I hope management addresses both the inconsistency in policy and the conduct of staff, as this is not the level of service one expects. I demand a written apology from the brqnch manager and the staff members involved in the incident.
