****roaches swim with us at the virgin active!

I’m absolutely appalled at the state of the Humewood gym. Today while swimming, myself as well as 2 other swimmers encountered a few ****roaches swimming about in the bottom of the pool. 4 weeks ago the pool had debris that looked like toilet paper and panty liners floating in it and it reeked of urine and sewage. They closed the pool for a week or so saying that they had a problem with the pump. It would be assumed that all issues would’ve been sorted if they did maintenance but unfortunately it seems not!

There is still a huge amount of sand in the pool and some debris and particles can be seen floating under the surface.

How do they expect paying clients(who pay a decent amount of money monthly ) to utilize facilities which are not up to standard?

The gym itself is always filthy. There is a sewage smell that hits you sometimes at the entrance of the gym and on numerous occasions I myself have seen ****roaches in the bathrooms and around the pool.

The ceiling is full of cobwebs and filth and has not been cleaned In years it looks like.

It does not help to make huge changes, pay millions on renovations and install state of the art equipment etc, when a basic thing like sanitation and hygiene can not be seen to.

I’ve got an issue with my joints and swimming is the only sport that helps me to get my heart rate up without putting too much impact on my joints. Should I instead, cancel my membership with the gym and pay that towards another gym where my needs and requirements are fulfilled???
