Club closed on Sundays - poor business conduct and unprofessional solutions
This review is following a complaint I made on Virgin Active's Facebook page regarding the closure of our Welkom Club in Sundays.
Not only was the response on the Virgin Active Facebook page pathetic to say the least, it did not provide me with any solutions to my problem. I am one of many members who utilizes the clubs facilities on a Sunday, when I am unable to make a training day during the week, or the club is just too congested for me to be able to train. The question I asked was if the club was going to be closed, will I recieved a reduced rate since the amount amount of hours/days that the club will be available to me will now be reduced, or will a solution be provided for me in terms of my training requirements on the proposed days the club will be closed. The solution presented to me by your Virgin Active SA Facebook page administrator was that if I wanted to train a Sunday I can make use of the nearest club which is more than 150km away from me. Not a solution!!
What's even more shocking to me than your blatant ignorance and inability to provide your members with a solution is that your own staff at the Welkom Branch were unaware of the changes of your operation hours, and couldn't provide us members with answers, since many of your staff members at the Welkom branch learnt of these operational changes through my original Facebook post on your page. 10 out of 10 for branch support there Virgin Active!
I don't want someone from you Welkom branch contacting me, their hands are tied and clearly get no support from their head office. I want head office to call me WHEN you have a solution for me, because telling me the club will closed and I will not get a reduction on my monthly premium is presenting me with a problem, not a solution. In case you have forgotten your members are supposed to come first. You are clearly not putting members first if you are going to decide what days they will and will not be able to train and then proceed to fill your pockets with their hard earned money whilst reducing your clubs operations hours and expenses. This is absolutely poor business conduct! I signed a contract 12 years ago with virgin active to be able to make use of your facility 7 days a week!
Here are some proposed solutions that will be both ethical, and fair to both Virgin Active and it's members (this should be your job but nonetheless I have taken the time to help you here - it's a pleasure)
Reduce members monthly premiums Reduce the operational hours of the gym from 9 hours on a Sunday to 4 hours Switch off showers, hot water and sauna on Sundays Reduce amount of working staff in Sundays Promote Sunday training with vouchers or discounts at Kuai bar to get more members in the club
I am awaiting your constructive response.
