Century City management protecting *********

A Virgin Active member stole my car keys from my locker at the Century City club on 27 November 2020. He then went to the parking garage and stole valuables worth ~R70,000 (Cellphone, Laptop, Airpods & Wallet.)

The gym refused to share the CCTV footage with me without a subpoena so I went to Century City security services to ask them for footage outside the club. I identified the suspect, gave the gym the exact time the member entered and exited the gym (17:10 & 17:13) and asked them to share the member details with the police.

The manager (Zulfa Fredericks) asked for a copy of the footage and said she will speak to the club lawyers and will contact me with the next steps.

I've sent her 3 emails to which she hasn't responded and I also have left 5 voice messages for her to return my call. I eventually got hold of Zulfa by contacting the club from a different number at the start of January. She said she contacted the member (suspect) and asked him to come back to the club but he hasn't responded to her messages. I do not understand why they are refusing to share the information with the police (they first want to complete an internal investigation), yet she tried to be a PI and only made the member aware that we are onto him.

I then contacted the Head Office to log a complaint and was really impressed with the way that the Customer Service Manager (Nathlee Petersen) handled the situation, but that only lasted a day.

Nathlee made numerous promises to me that she'll give me constant updates via email and that she will let me know how she escalated the matter and also share the findings of their internal investigation. I'm still waiting for the emails and every time I phone her she said she will give me an update the next day.

Its been more than a week and Nathlee is not answering my calls t and I have a suspicion that she asked her colleagues to tell me that she is in meetings when I call the switchboard the speak to her.

I will never ever support them again and I will not stop to make the public aware of their actions until they share the information with the police. I truly believe that this is obstruction of justice and it makes me think that an employee is involved and they are protecting him.
