Cant join gym due to Debt that isn't in my name

My parents joined me to Virgin active in 2008 i was under the age of 18 and was classed as a minor. My parents were paying they account and the account was in their name, i was just be member. Now when i want to join at the age of 22 and pay for the membership i am unable to due to an old debt. By law, The Consumer protection act, debt has to be claimed within 3 years, after that it has to be written off.. I am not liable for any outstanding amount an i refuse to pay any amount that is not in my name. i want this to be sorted out ASAP as i am extremely unhappy with this **** service
