Cancellation request ignored to make more money

I have emailed Virgin Active to cancel my subscription before the next price increase which wa due to happen by 1 January 2026. My email was blatently ignored and now I'm forced to pay the new premium. My cancellation request was done by end of November 2025. Is this a way to ****** more money out of customers?
