Cancellation fee

I have a gym membership that nearly costs me R800 a month, I am now a full time student so I can’t afford to pay that monthly. They want to charge me a R1169 cancellation fee when I only have 4 months left of my contract???? When I explained again that I am a student they said they could freeze my account for the two months and I would only pay half but the remaining two months I will pay full price. When I called them to freeze my account they told me I already froze my account twice in the past so I can’t do that now. There is no understanding of people’s circumstances.
