Cancellation fee

Last year October I signed a contract with Virgin Active Milpark, after realizing I can't juggle everything well (school and gym) I decided to freeze my account because I couldn't afford the 30% cancellation fee of the remaining months they told me about. I froze it for 6 months and thereafter (this month) I called to cancel my contract and they tell me it's now 40% to cancel. I ask for the contract and the contract only says a 'reasonable amount'. speaking to a friend experiencing the same problem, she tells me they told her its 50% of remaining months. Why are the consultants so inconsistent? It's quite embarrassing and frustrating to me as the customer. Furthermore, I ask about freezing and the lady tells me the maximum months you can freeze for is 4 months and how is that possible when I just froze for 6months. I find this ridiculous actually, I'm irritated and frustrated about this inconsistency. i find it unfair that I suddenly have to pay 40% cancellation fee when I was told it would be 30% not to even mention the fact that the contract only talks about a this 'reasonable amount'.

I am sorry to hear about the inconsistent information provided to you. We will take this up with the agents who spoke to you to ensure that consistent, current information is provided going forward.

I have emailed you the confirmation of the cancellation letter as you have requested.
