CANCELATION POLICY

I am very upset and angry about the cancelationpolicy.

I joined Virgin Active in Amanzimtoti as I was living in the area after I had to relocate due to illness.

When I was declared fit to work again after having been put on disabilty for almost 3yrs my employer moved me to a town called PATERSON.

Its a farming town basically. This town is 70km from the nearest City which has a Virgin active which is PE.

My work hours are 8am -5pm and alternate weekends, due to this I had to cancel my contract and spoke to someone at VA to explain my predicament that I am not able to gym because I can not drive 140km round trip to gym.

I was then told I had to pay that ridicoulus cancelation fee, I asked what about the circumtances as I am bieng transfered and it is not that I just want to stop going to gym, the consult basically said I could be lying.

I asked if I can send my contract which states my office whereabouts I was told that it was not needed as I would still be laible to pay the cancellation fee or keep paying for my membership until my contract expires.

What makes me angry is that peopel musts still be liable for a cancelation fee when you move into an area which does not have a VA close to you.

I asked what if someone is transfered to maybe a place like Mount Ayliff or Cala (these are towns in the middle of nowhere - not meaning to be sinsulting to the residents there) but if you have a contract and it is not by choice that you have to relocate that you will be liable for the cancelation fee?

It is so pathetic that individual cases are not looked at on the basis of merit.

PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A VIRGIN ACTIVE CONTRACT BECAUSE OF THIS CANCELATION POLICY.

And these sms from MBD everyday are also very very irritating.

If you take a contract with Virgin active you will be TRAPPED watch out.
