Cancel your membership & get offered a 50% saving.

I requested cancellation on the 8th May 2023. I was then offered a 50% saving in my membership fees, which would reduce this from R1 700 to R850 per month. I declined the offer, because a) I don't get to the gym often enough to justify the fees, and b) Lone Hill do SWEET NOTHING for kids but I must pay? My 7 year old refuses to go to Club V because of all the babies & toddlers & my 11 year old for whom I pay full fees, is not sure what she can and can't do, because today she's allowed on everything excluding the treadmill, and tomorrow she's not allowed on any machine? The staff are clueless and set the rules depending on their daily moods. What must she do if she cant use the machines (obviously with my supervision & assistance) ... do weights amongst the men downstairs? Pre covid there was always games and challenges for the kids, of all ages!!!! I was given a breakdown of the final debit order amount that would go off on the 1st June which included the pro-rata. I was debited the full R1 700. I have made one phone call after another, and no one gets back to me, and many phone calls are unanswered or just cut off after putting me on hold "to check the system". I eventually got a guy to e-mail me back, however his feedback was that his superior has come to the conclusion that there is no refund due to me??? Now that I want my phone call recording, that too seems to be time wasted on calls & e-mails. VA can offer me a 90% saving on membership fees, I will not go back!!!!

Reviewer Update
Subsequent to my review, I have received feedback that Virgin Active agree I am due a refund from them, they confirmed the amount to me. And now ... 9 days later, no money paid to me, my calls are all mysteriously dropped and my e-mails ignored.
Stunning gym ... I think not.
